Project Name
Promotion of Youth Employment and Vocational Training in Kenya (Phase 1)
Brief Project description
The Project concerns the establishment of Centres of Excellence for Cooperative Training (CoE) at three public TVET institutes (KIST, Nairobi TTI, Thika TTI) that shall offer high-quality labour market-oriented training for Kenyan youth in specific trades with a strong engagement of surrounding industries. The TTIs will be supported in the introduction and implementation of cooperative (oriented towards German dual) training courses, in line with the new Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) framework. Close partnerships with industry allow 50% in industry trainings. The Financial Cooperation component will equip the institutes with state of the art equipment, new workshops, ICT infrastructure and a scholarship component.
